The Sunshine Fund provides specialist equipment for children with disabilities or special needs, to improve the quality of their lives. The fund is helping North East children in special schools, learning units, hospitals and also individual families.

14 members of unw LLP accountants have organised a coast to coast cycle event in order to raise funds for the Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund.  Starting on Saturday 28 August from Workington in Cumbria the team will set out over the 150 mile journey to reach Tynemouth Priory on Monday 30 August.

The Sunshine Fund is a registered charity managed by the Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. The charity aims to enhance the lives of local disabled children and their families through providing essential equipment, learning aids and custom built apparatus.  Since 1995 the Sunshine Fund have managed to raise £700,000 for essential equipment that has improved the quality of children's lives across the region.
