Hi there!
Having spend my last holiday doing cart wheels in front of Everest for the British Heart Foundation, I thought that this year I'd rather travel to a slightly warmer climate.
And as we GPs are not working enough according to the British Press, I decided to spend 2 weeks working for the Vine Trust in Peru:
I will be part of a team of doctors, nurses and dentists on board of the "Amzon Hope", a converted Royal Navy Supply Ship, delivering Primary Health Care to villagers on the banks of the River Amazon, most of whom have very limited access to health care due to geopgraphy and poverty.
The Vine Trust started in 1985 as a local community response to the famine in Ethopia and Sudan, and has since grown from these small beginnings in the realisation that ordinary people working together can effect significant change, now running several projects in Peru. To find out more, visit: www.vinetrust.org .
This is a very worthwhile cause, and as all my expenses are covered by myself, all your donations will go directly to the Vine Trust.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Vine Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So get out your credit cards, dig deep and please sponsor me now!
Thank you soooo much, it is very much appreciated! Take care Ursula
