Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

On 28th May 2010, four fire fighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service will be setting off on the arduous task of cycling 3600 miles across America to raise money for 'The Fire Fighter's Charity'.  We will set out from Astoria on the West Coast and finish in New York on the East Coast after 45 gruelling days of riding.  The main goal of our ride is to raise money and awareness for The Fire Fighter's Charity.

It is a sad fact that even with stringent safety measures in place, fire fighters are still killed and injured in the line of duty and the Fire Fighter's Charity was created to help the injured and those affected by the loss of a fire fighter on an emergency call.

Since its inception the charity has grown and now opens the doors of its facilities to the child victims of fire and in the coming months the therapy, rehabilitation and recuperation services which the Charity offers will be made available to everyone so that all members of the public can benefit from the excellent service the Charity provides.  However, all this comes at a cost and the running costs of £9 million a year is raised by volunteers just like us.  We would therefore be grateful for any support you are able to give us no matter how big or small to help this worthy cause.  We have seen first hand how fires and car collisions can tear peoples lives and families apart and really believe that any money raised will help people who through no fault of their own, are unable to help themselves.

Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it.
