My story

Later this year we (the UTL Operating Committee) are going to be cycling 300 miles in just 4 days, no really. Garlic, onions and fragrant fromage, that’s right we're off to Paris, ‘on your bike’ I hear you say, you’d be right.

In September this year we'll be completing the London to Paris bike ride in support of ‘Beating Bowel Cancer’, the ’s leading bowel cancer charity and a charity close to the hearts of many of us who have lost family, friends and colleagues to the disease. You might be surprised to know that bowel cancer is actually the second biggest cancer killer, after lung cancer in the , with 35,500 people diagnosed with the disease every year.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Beating Bowel Cancer gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We are all determined, albeit with varying degrees of ‘fitness’ and ‘ability’ to raise £25,000 to ensure the ‘BBC’ can continue their ongoing research, education and providing essential care to bowel cancer sufferers and their families – your contribution makes our aches and pains that much more worthwhile!
