Story

<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Please support our 10 yr old daughter, Alana. I know some of you wont be aware of it but her Grandad, passed away in October 2011 from a heart condition. Obviously this had a profound effect on her.</p> <div>Alana is part of a group of 4 children at her primary school who are taking part in the Torbay Civic Award. The award aims to develop well-rounded, confident and caring individuals who strive to make a difference in their various communities and are prepared to take responsibility for change. The award was founded by Mrs Karen Thomson from the Shiphay Learning Academy as a preliminary to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.</div> <div>There are a couple of press releases about the award at the following links:</div> <div><a href="http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/Civic-awards-aim-encourage-youngsters/story-13741413-detail/story.html">http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/Civic-awards-aim-encourage-youngsters/story-13741413-detail/story.html</a></div> <div><a href="http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/Prestigious-awards-school-pupils-undertook/story-13068270-detail/story.html">http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/Prestigious-awards-school-pupils-undertook/story-13068270-detail/story.html</a></div> <div>As part of their award, the four girls are wanting to fund raise for the British Heart Foundation at the Warberry School Valentines Fair on the 10th February. As well as the usual baking of cakes, sweet making etc to raise funds, we're trying to think of ways of making the raffle something that everyone will want to enter by having some really exciting prizes on offer rather than the usual Lidl bottle of wine, box of smellys that no one uses etc (even though they have been gratefully received as well).</div> <div>Please do not feel obliged but would you please dig deep and buy some raffle tickets from us, they are &pound;1 a strip and the money can be sent straight to our just giving page. We will then email you your colour and number and put your tickets into the raffle.</div> <div>A big thank you from all the girls for reading this and we hope to hear from you soon.</div> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving &ndash; they&rsquo;ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they&rsquo;ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it&rsquo;s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.</p> <p>So please dig deep and donate now.</p>
