My son Nicholas was very ill with Meningitis just before reaching his 30th birthday and was hospitalised for a week. This came as a surprise as I was unaware that it could be so severe at that age . Nick battled through it all , losing weight and  looking only half the fit young man he had been. He has since regained his fitness but suffers with headaches and tiredness. The headaches can be quite severe at times.  I am raising funds to try and help those both babies , children and older who may become ill with meningitis and to fund research into the possible causes and prevention. This walk will also be particularly poignant as my father died two years ago   and he was a great giver to good causes . He liked nothing better than to walk his beloved Peak District , through which the walk takes us.
