Hello, my name is Vanessa and I want your money!

In October I shall be joining a group of volunteers to trek to Machu Picchu in Peru, known as the Lost City of the Incas.From high remote mountain trails to the first sight of the legendary Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, this is a challenging trek on steep trails climbing to 4200m in diverse mountainous country.

All of the money raised will go direct to the charity as all flight costs etc will be paid for by me.

The purpose of the trip is to raise money to support The Fostering Network, the UK's leading charity for everyone involved in fostering. Their work is focused on improving foster care and making a positive difference.

  Fostering offers the chance to make a real difference in children's lives. When foster care works well - which it does for many children every day - it is a great way of providing families for children who, for a wide range of reasons, cannot live with their own parents.

I am a full time foster carer and I am also involved in the recruitment of new foster carers to work within Norfolk County Council Children's Services.

Fostering is extremely challenging, but any of the 37,000 foster families in the UK would tell you that it can also be incredibly rewarding. If you think you have what it takes, and live in the Norfolk area drop them an e-mail at fostering@norfolk.gov.uk
