VARLEY'S ANGELS GET THEIR WINGS !
We are a team of lawyers from Barclays and Lovells who are silly enough to have volunteered to abseil down Lovells' offices...a 12 storey building on Holborn Viaduct, London.
We were due to abseil on Friday 4 September but due to unforseen circumstances, this date was postponed. The event will now take place on Monday 26 October!!
We are doing this to raise money for ORBIS. ORBIS carry out vital sight saving work in the developing world, so please dig deep and sponsor us!
According to the World Health Organization, 45 million people worldwide are blind - yet 80 percent suffer needlessly. Their blindness could have been prevented or treated. ORBIS is a nonprofit organisation fighting blindness in developing countries, where 90 percent of the blind reside. At the heart of ORBIS's capacity building efforts is the Flying Eye Hospital, the world's only airborne eye health training and surgical centre. The ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital is literally a hospital with wings - a refurbished DC-10 - that brings together dedicated eye care professionals and aviators to give the gift of sight to people in developing countries around the world. Together, we can eliminate blindness and transform lives.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it's the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you!
