Through creative and community events, V-Day London 2010 will empower women and men to break the silence, speak up, share their experiences and help others. It will creatively activate much needed change in London and begin an end to violence against women. We are planning performances, a 10K marathon, music events and more during March 2010. Proceeds will benefit local and international women's charities.
Over 150 women are raped every day in the UK. One in four women in the UK and worldwide will be a experience of domestic or sexual violence in her lifetime.
Amnesty International also reports that 3 million women across the UK experience rape, domestic violence, forced marriage, stalking, sexual exploitation and trafficking or another form of violence each year.
