We are raising money for Macmillan Caring Locally which provides funds to enhance the care provided by the Macmillan unit at Christchurch Hospital for cancer sufferers. The Macmillan Unit has an inpatient ward caring for 20 patients, a team of Palliative Care Sisters who visit patients in the community, a day center and a hospital support team who see patients in the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The funds also provides funds for nursing and medical equipment to improve patient treatment and comfort as well as supporting palliative care in the local community and funding innovative cancer diagnosis and treatment procedures.
On January 4 2011 Susan Beswarick the wife of Stuart who works at Vear Building Services died of Leukemia after a brave fight against the illness. An extremely difficult time was helped by the staff and volunteers at the hospital. Tim Waters the managing director has kindly sponsored, on behalf of the company, a charity parachute jump on the 14 August. The people participating will be Natalie Le Mesurier from the accounts department, as a consequence of losing a bet with Tim, Nick Child from Vear Construction and representing Stuart will be his son Jack. So far £800 has been raised for the charity this year by the office and £146 by kind friends at the funeral. It would be fantastic if this could be increased by a further £2,000 for this worthwhile cause.
We would be grateful of your support.
