CAFOD works with local partners and communities across the world - responding to emergencies, promoting long-term development and raising public awareness of the causes of poverty. We work with people of all faiths and none for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world.

Story

It's early Saturday morning 21st July 2012 . Five intrepid sausage-fuelled veloists lean into the brisk north easterly that's trying to push them back into the Atlantic.  Only two weeks and 1087 miles to go..... (CLICK ON "READ MORE...  " BELOW IF YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT THE ROUTE!) And - if you want to see the occasional progress report or cry for help - got to www.facebook.com/velovogt

Yep - the Vogts are off - together with three bikes, a tandem, and a bucket of crotch-cream.

Velo Vogt is in memory of Antony Mahony - Gabriel's Godfather and keen cyclist, who died in 2011, age 56.  Antony devoted his life and career to development projects in the 3rd World - the last years with CAFOD .

Please help us up those hills. The more money we raise, the more pedal power we'll have ....

Warmest (sweaty) thanks for your generous donations in memory of Antony - and in support of CAFOD.

Karen, Sjoerd, Gabriel, Adam & Barnaby

P.S.  If you think it would be fun to meet up - or even join us for a leg - then here's the route:
