Story
Take 2 - Yes, it's true - I am going to (attempt) to run the London Marathon (again).
After doing ALL the training, I had to pull out last year because of injury. But now, having (almost) made a full recovery... I am trying again!! I can say with confidence and experience that it's not going to be easy but I am still (just about) motivated to do it!
This year, there shall be no silliness - alcohol and chocolate will feature prominently in the training... but I really will try and get over the line this time round - even if painkillers and bandages are the only option (although ideally this won't be necessary!)
I am doing this for The Bishop Simeon Trust who support people living in poverty in South Africa. You all know I love that country but there is no denying that the culture is hard to get used to. South Africa is one of the most unequal societies and also has the highest number of HIV+ people in the world. I have spent time in rural communities and seen the consequences first hand... the pictures are from my last trip.
All the money raised will help HIV+ children and their care workers... and they really do need it. No matter how big or small, please sponsor me for them!
Donating through this site is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bishop Simeon Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
THANK YOU!
