I am undertaking a 10 day Trek across the Great Wall of China in May 2009.
Support me to raise money for the BG Generations Foundation Fund. This was established by former students of Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln to support students undertaking volunteering in the UK and overseas. To date, it has provided grants to students building schools for disadvantaged communities in Kenya, teaching orphans in Nepal, helping HIV Children in southern Africa and teaching children in Cameroon in West Africa.
We live in a world that can often seem to be marred by conflict and where the news seems only to be reporting stories with a bleak and often unhappy outcome. British society is one where negative stories about young people in seem to dominate and where people often have a very negative outlook on the contribution that young people can make.
The BG Generations Foundation Fund is challenging many of these views, providing students with the opportunity to experience different cultures and experiences in the UK and across the world. These students act as ambassadors for their generation, illustrating the positive contribution they can make, whilst also gaining real hands on skills that can then go on to enrich their life experiences.
