UPDATE: Flight departed on schedule at 1220hrs and I have to say i enjoyed every second apart from sitting on the edge of the dam 200ft up with only a strap between me, the wire and the ground below.
Best of all was the having the opportunity to save lives with the generous donations given so far, Thank You! My maiden flight from Baitings Dam has so far raised a compelling £800 for Leukaemia.
Would i do it again? Dam right!
Toyota General Manager, Jared Griffin is facing a double challenge of a lifetime as he takes on his fear of heights and raises money for Leukaemia.
Jared, 38, is usually firm on the ground as a General Manager for West Riding Toyota in Huddersfield, but on Saturday April 17th he will be donning his flight gear and flying 200 feet above Yorkshire to raise money for The Anthony Nolan Trust.
"I am totally scared of heights," says Jared. "Zip flying off a Dam, 200 feet up, I must be mad!”
The hard work will all be worthwhile for Jared if he succeeds in raising £500 for The Anthony Nolan Trust. Today there are over 16,000 children and adults with leukaemia and related diseases whose only hope is to find a suitable bone marrow donor. Much needed funds will help to recruit more potential donors – thereby increasing the chances of finding a life saving match for those desperately waiting for it.
