Story

Hello and can we just say YAY! You found our page! Give yourself a high five, you did good. So what is this page all about? Well, in a nutshell, there's a beautiful little girl who's very, very sick  And that's not fair. Camille is two years old and is currently being treated for an Intracranial Ependymoma - a brain tumour situated in the fourth ventricle between the cerebellum and the brain stem at the base of the brain. The tumour is currently pressing against the cerebellum and brain stem making surgery too dangerous. The treatment plan is to offer chemotherapy to shrink the tumour away from these two areas so surgery can take place. Chemotherapy started on 23rd July 2009 and is planned to last for 12 months or more.

Camille and her family have had an unbearable time since her diagnosis, yet they find the strength and determination to carry on and are raising hope, money and smiles through their amazing charity Camille's Appeal

Scott and I have decided to try and raise some money for Camille's Appeal by climbing Ben Nevis on Saturday 7th August. As we've never climbed anything more taxing than the stairs, it will definitely be a challenge! You want the lowdown on Ben Nevis? Okay, here goes: Ben Nevis

*Standing at 1,344 metres high (or 4,408 feet) Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles

*Ben Nevis, translated from the gaelic means 'Mountain of Heaven'.

*Deep snow lies all year in large pockets at the foot of the northern and northa east cliffs, and snow can fall in any month of the year

*The AVERAGE temparature at the summit is one degree below freezing.

*The mountain summit is only clear on one day out of 10 on average.

So there you have it - Scott and I are going to climb the biggest mountain in the British Isles to raise money for Camille's Appeal. So what do you say - are you in? Of course you are, good on you! Absolutely any donation is hugely appreciated, no matter how much it is.
