We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I am joining all other members of Team Georgia when I take part in Race for Life this year and will remembering the  fabulous Georgia Kelly who took part in Race for Life on more than one occasion.

In 2011, Georgia was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma, the most aggressive form of childhood cancer. During 2011 and 2012, Georgia underwent gruelling treatment and in 2013 was given the amazing news that that Georgia had beaten the cancer.

Sadly, in August 2014, Georgia and her family were given the devastating news that the cancer had returned  and Georgia started further chemotherapy. Georgia showed tremendous strength and was always smiling and happy despite the gruelling treatment.

On the 16th December 2015, after a long fight, Georgia passed away holding her Mummy's hand, she was aged just 9 years.

The pain of losing Georgia is unimaginably hard for her Mum and Dad and for all of those who had the privilege of being part of her life. Georgia loved nothing more than helping others.

On Sunday 5th June 2016, we will join forces, we will remember Georgia and we will help to raise money to help others facing this disease.

I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.

Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
