Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday, July 2nd 2011 a group of friends and staff from Clifton College are beginning a cycle ride from Bristol to La Rochelle in France. We intend to cover the 340 miles in 4 days - Day 1: 100 miles; Day 2: 65 miles; Day 3: 85 miles; Day 4: 90 miles. We fly back to Birmingham on Wednesday, 6th July. This is quite a challenge for someone who has not done any serious cycling before April this year. I have been training hard.
This is also an opportunity for me to raise some money for a very worthwhile local charity.
One25 is a registered charity operating out of St Pauls in Bristol. It reaches out to some of the city's most vulnerable women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives without violence, poverty and addiction. Their services include a yellow night van ('The Custard Tart') providing crisis help, an afternoon drop-in centre and 24/7 one-to-one support from a caseworker. The charity also runs Naomi House, the only mother and baby home for women escaping sex work. Hot meals, showers and medical services are also provided.
£10 could provide 10 vulnerable women with a bag of food and an alarm for protection.
£50 could provide 2 acutely ill, lonely women with hospital packs including pyjamas, slippers, towels, toiletries and clothes.
Please see www.one25.org.uk for further details.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks.
