We help veterans and their families to live the life they deserve after service

Story

Matt lived and breathed the Army his whole life, throwing every inch of enthusiasm and courage into his job and continuously pushed himself to the best of his ability.

Matt started his career at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate at 16, he spent the next 7 years of his life fully engrossed with Army life. He was a highly motivated  and enthusiastic soldier who thrived on new challenges and he was always the first to volunteer when the opportunity presented itself.  He travelled widely with the Army serving in Canada, Cyprus, Arizona, Iraq and finally Afghanistan, where he was killed by an explosion whilst on foot patrol on August 13th 2009.

In honour of Matt; myself, Mum, Dad, Sister and Warren, plus a few other family members and close friends are pushing our limits and will be climbing Kilimanjaro in March 2010. All money raised will go to Help for Heroes, a fantastic charity that supports wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. This was a charity very close to Matt's heart and several of his friends will benefit from the charity's support, we are therefore very keen to raise as much money as possible.

This will be both mentally and physically testing for each one of us. We need to raise £3,400 each for the charity, therefore fundraising is going to be also a big challenge especially as we only have a few months to reach this target.

If you could donate anything towards our climb it would be gratefully received. Or if you have any fundraising suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you, Vicky xxx
