Over the next 8 months I aim to raise as much funding as I can for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK before I embark upon my Mexican Jungle Adventure. I have a long journey to be made before I leave on the trip. It will not be a holiday; it will mark the end of a huge acheivement.
Before the trip I will need to lose a considerable amount of weight (approximately 6-7 stone) as well as get myself physically fit, in good enough condition to be able the undergo the Challenge itself.
I will need to be ready to trek and raft for many hours a day in the heat and humidity of the rainforest. I am scared of creepy crawlies and am aware of the unhospitable environment of the rainforest so during my trip I will experience sheer discomfort. This will be pushing myself right to the limit. It wll involve total commitment to my cause- but I cannot think of a more worthy cause to raise money for and to campaign for.
In order to raise enough funds for the charity it will require rigorous campaigning; I will undertake a number of intensive sponsored events along the way.
