Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page, where you can donate to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Instituion - http://www.rnli.org.uk/) in memory of Vic Stirrup.I am Vic's grandson Ben, and have set up this page on behalf of the family.

Vic Stirrup sadly passed away on Friday 25th November 2011, aged 93.

Vic loyally followed West Bromwich Albion FC for a staggering 87 years and was a season ticket holder since 1938. He missed just 5 games since WW2. Vic's support for the club quite rightly earned him national acclaim in 2005 when he was voted the Barclays Fan of the Year.

Vic also followed Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Team for many years, and enjoyed cheering on the Blaze from his seat in Block 13. He was a fantastic Blaze fan, and thoroughly enjoyed being a supporter of the team.

Vic Stirrup was a fantastic, enthusiastic and committed supporter of these 2 teams, and would continue to support them through thick and thin.

Throughout his life, Vic was passionate about supporting the RNLI, and raised money for them on several occasions. Vic spent a lot of the time at sea during the war, and continued to love the sea for all his life. Vic therefore had an admiration and respect for the work which is done by the RNLI.

We would ask that you would continue to support the great work which is done by the RNLI, and donate in memory of Vic Stirrup.

The family and friends of Vic Stirrup would like to thank everyone for the staggering amount of messages which have been received, following the news of Vic's passing. We are extremely grateful of these, and are amazed at how many people held Vic in such high esteem.

We cannot express our thanks enough during this diffiicult time, and would finally like to thank you again for visiting this page. Whether you knew Vic personally or not, please donate what you can to support this excellent cause.

Funeral Arrangements

The funeral of Vic Stirrup will be held on Thursday 8th December 2011, 3pm Kick Off at West Bromwich Crematorium (B71 3SX).

The funeral cortege will go past The Hawthorns in Halford's Lane at around 2.30pm.

Family flowers only.
