Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking up the challenging of treking Kilimanjaro the fourth highest mountain in the world standing at 19,340 feet above sea level. I will be commencing my trek on 23rd July 2012. The challenge in itself will be a fantastic achievment but I am hoping to gain more then this. I will be raising money for the Downs Syndrome Association, a charity very close to my heart as my younger brother Andy has Downs Syndrome. The association has been incrediably supportive over the years and I would love to be able to raise money to enable them to help others the same way in which they have helped my family.
I have always found it difficult to describe Andy to people and trying to avoid the phrase 'not normal' is really hard but I once read in the Downs Syndrome Journal that everyone else is ordinary and people with Downs are EXTRAordinary and that is so true! Andy is one of a kind and unique to the core. I am a true believer in that everything happens for a reason and Andy being Andy has taught me an aweful lot about myself and everything around me, and I am positive that anyone who has come into contact with him would say the same. Having said this Andy would not be the person he is nor be achieving what he is without the tremendous support we as a family have recieved, because no matter how much happiness Andy gives us he definatly brings his challenges!
So I have set this challenge of my own which I want to do on behalf of the best brother in the world so I can make him as proud of me as I am of him every day!
So please donate to this very worthwhile cause!
Your support will be grately appreciated!
Thank you!
