Over the period of between the 14^th and the 25^th of November 2009, I will be participating in the Bedell Group Ecuador Trek Challenge in aid of Jersey Hospice Care.

The Trek leaves Jersey on the 14^th November, participants fly to Quito and embark on a 7 day trek through the Condor Valley to the base of Cotopaxi (the world's 2^nd highest active volcano) this is a remote and challenging trek involving extremes in temperature, weather and altitude therefore this will involve a considerable amount of training and commitment on my part.

The purpose of the Trek is to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care which specialises in a palliative nursing service, providing holistic care and support for cancer and motor neurone disease patients and relatives.

I know from experience that on the island most of us will at sometime have had a friend or a relative who will have or need the care of Jersey Hospice.
