Bedell Group Ecuador Trek Challenge · 16 April 2009

Jersey Hospice Care offers specialist palliative care to patients with any life-limiting condition. Our aim is that patients are enabled to live the remainder of their lives to the full, to remain at home if they wish, and to die with dignity where they choose. Thank you

Story

Over the period of between the 14th and the 25th of November 2009, I will be participating in the Bedell Group Ecuador Trek Challenge in aid of Jersey Hospice Care.

The Trek leaves Jersey on the 14th November, participants fly to Quito and embark on a 7 day trek through the Condor Valley to the base of Cotopaxi (the world's 2nd highest active volcano) this is a remote and challenging trek involving extremes in temperature, weather and altitude therefore this will involve a considerable amount of training and commitment on my part.

The purpose of the Trek is to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care which specialises in a palliative nursing service, providing holistic care and support for cancer and motor neurone disease patients and relatives.

I know from experience that on the island most of us will at sometime have had a friend or a relative who will have or need the care of Jersey Hospice.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
