Story
Dear friends, family & colleagues,
As some of you are aware, our dear friend Gary Collins was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), which resulted in him being admitted to hospital last October to await a life-saving bone marrow transplant. The condition was diagnosed completely out of the blue, with no warning, and a bone marrow transplant was confirmed as the only option available for Gary.
Thanks to the hard work and efforts of the Anthony Nolan Trust, and a worldwide search, a donor was recently found and in March of this year, Gary received his transplant. The photo attached is of Gary and his lovely wife Sandra on the transplant day itself - a truly special day for Gary, Sandra and their family, Ben (19yrs), Phoebe (nearly 4yrs) and Joe (nearly 2yrs).
Gary's transplant would not have happended without the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charitable organization that searches for and provides donors for those people requiring a bone marrow transplant.
Which is where you come in!!!!
Team Collins (Victoria, Philippa, Farm, Ness, Pip, Pete, Charlotte, Janet & William) have decided to raise money for the Trust by taking part in the Eton and Blenheim Triathlons, competing as 2 seperate teams. So basically it's time to dig deep and donate as much as you can spare to see us prancing around in lycra, semi drowning in a lake and adopting a Lance Armstrong swagger .... must be worth a few quid, right?
As well as giving us lots of money, you can also come and laugh at us, sorry .... see us competing at Eton on Saturday 17th May or at Blenheim on Saturday 7th June.
So thank you for visiting our fundraising page - please do what you can, we really appreciate it.
Team Collins xx
NB: Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Anthony Nolan Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
