Our Charity Challenge - Vietnam 2 Cambodia · 26 September 2012

Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity that aims to alleviate the suffering of the world's poorest people. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, it promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities - regardless of race, religion or gender.

Story

In November 2012, The Our Charity Challenge Team will be embarking on a challenge of a lifetime. We will be Cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia; covering a total of 320 gruelling miles.

From now until November 2012 we have begun our campaign to raise a massive total of £100,000 which will go towards water projects in West Africa. An area that has recently been hit with severe draught, which has led to a crop shortage, leading to a sharp rise in food prices.

As a result of this project, children who would usually spend the day searching for water would spend the day searching for knowledge at school. Women who would ordinarily walk miles each day for water would spend more time with their families. More importantly, tribal and clan in-fighting over water would cease.

To ensure this project continues to benefit peoples’ lives, we ask you to dig deep and donate as much as possible.

You’ll be bringing smiles where once there were none.
