Great Gorilla Run 2007 · 22 September 2007 ·

With just over 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world and 3 subspecies now critically endangered it is vital we do everything we can to save gorillas from extinction. We protect them from poachers, safeguard their forest home and improve livelihoods in local communities. Will you join us?

Story

Welcome along.

So, you know me, and you know I love monkeys. So when there's a chance to raise money for a worthwhile cause, and have a laugh doing it, I'm already there!

The Gorilla Organisation, formerly the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, is one of the strongest champions for the welfare of the remaining 700 gorillas that live in the wild (Yes that few. In the world. Understand now?). Their work spans reforestation and habitat maintenance, provision of Rangers to supervise the Gorillas, and education of local communities to live in harmony with the gorillas (easier said than done, when that sometimes involves talking to the militia in the DR Congo).

Aside from all that, watching around a thousand gorillas running through the City of London should be a bit of a giggle. And worth a few quid of "laughter tax" for the priviledge.

So, in the nicest possible way, please sign your life away! (And remember to tick the 'Gift Aid' box so Gordon Brown & Alastair Darling can get into the spirit of giving too).

Cheers for your support. Dobbo x
