Villars 24 Hour Ski Race · 17 November 2008

Disability Snowsport UK’s vision is of mountains and ski slopes free from barriers. It's our mission to make snowsport accessible for everyone; regardless of disability, injury or experience.

Story

Dear all,

Members of the British Disabled Ski Team Adult and Youth Development Squads and members of Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK), the skiers and boarders charity, are took part in this years 24 hour marathon ski race in Villars, Switzerland. The race was a great success for us and we came away as disabled champions - having skied 379 Km in the 24 hours. Please visit our gallery to see some photos from this stunning event.

Our skiers raised money to help the BCV 24h Villars 24hr sponsored charities of Springfield Club  and Fondation Theodora as well as to help disabled skiers and boarders access snowsports through DSUK.

Our Development Squads are ultimately aiming at competing in the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia. The Villars event is a great way for us to kick start their competition experience. Our fellow DSUK skiers are competing for fun and to raise money for some very worthwhile causes.

Even though we have done the event now, you can still donate for a little while - so feel free to do so. Please dig deep and help our skiers. To all those out there who have donated to us though please accept our heartfelt thanks. We are all tired, but very happy with how things went and extremely grateful to you for your support of us.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us. DSUK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, is added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
