Thanks for visiting our Justgiving page, as you can see with have chosen to represent Acorns for the Paul Birch Trophy a unique charity football tournament.
The Paul Birch Trophy takes place on the 30th May 2009 at the Powerleague in Aston, Birmingham. It is a 5-a-side tournament, with only 48 teams participating in total, putting us in a very priveledged position.
Taken from the description of the competition:
Each team will ‘battle’ it out in the group stages, with the view to qualify for the knock out stages. Those who win their respective groups, will be “ player managed” by a legend. Your legend player manager will guide each team all the way to the final where they can pick up a cheque for £1000 for their chosen charity. Along with this, The Paul Birch Trophy, fittingly named after the Aston Villa legend passed away this year after losing his battle with bone cancer will be for the team to keep and defend in next year’s Tournament.
We have a team of 8 of us, all of whom are members of Villa Talk - a unofficial Aston Villa forum run by the fans, hence the name Villa Talk FC:
The team consists of (usernames on VT and real names):
dappadan - Danny Entwistle
ianrobo1 - Ian Robathan
lp_villa830 - Lance Poole
NulliSecundus - Tom Coe
sellyoakvilla - Richard Franks
VTFC_wrafey - Jon boland
Stevo985 - Ben Stephenson
