We are currently raising funds for the Great Britain Deaf Swimming Squad for the T2009 Deaflympics in Taipei, Taiwan from 5 to16 September 2009. The estimated cost for the team to participate will be £43,000. This includes Hotel, Flight, kit, insurance and all meals.

Why Sponsor Great Britain Deaf Swimming

Great Britain Deaf Swimming are self funded and do not receive any help or support from the Amateur Swimming Association or the Government. The Government at present will not recognise the Great Britain Deaf Swimming as a body. The ASA do recognise Great Britain Deaf Swimming (who are affliliated to the South East ASA Region), but they do not give any financial support. Therefore, we rely on charitable donations/sponsorships and kind donations from outside support.

All coaches,managers, physiotherapists and committee members who work with Great Britain Deaf Swimming are volunteers and to date no one has been paid for their hard work.
