In February 2005 just before my 50th Birthday I was foolhardy enough to climb a big mountain for the first and supposedly last time in my life, Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa was conquered, not without pain and an unexpected snow fall. " Never again" or words to that effect were muttered, even recorded in print.

Well South America now calls and their highest mountain, indeed the highest one outside the Himalayas, I do believe, Aconcagua, now beckons me ....... well why not , two years wiser, off I go again. Mainly for Scope, although I will accept money direct for Catch 22's other charities as well, The Lords Taverners and The Breast Cancer campaign.

This is around 4000 foot higher and slightly more serious, no porters, nor cabins. It is carry your own tent and sleep in it .................
