The Fluffy Vamps are BACK and about to do it again… but this time with new additions and a new slant on the team name - the vamps have gone all VINTAGE!!!
The moonlight walk covers Chichester town centre & the surrounding areas totalling 10 WHOLE MILES J and this kicks off from the Westgate Leisure Centre at MIDNIGHT on Friday 17 June 2011. No doubt “The Vintage Vamps” will shock the stewards with their new look as much as the fluffy vamps did last year WATCH OUT FOR THE VINTAGE PUNK J…
Let me introduce you to the team that will be walking this year – Sophie Foreshew, Eve Tate, Wendy England and new comers Amanda Trodd and Michael Clarendon (Yes we have twisted a man’s arm to do the walk with us)
In previous years we have not mentioned any names but walked with thoughts of loved ones we have lost and kept those people close at heart during the walk & fundraising… but this year we have decided that we wanted to do the walk in honour of some loved ones, a few we sadly lost in the past year and a couple who were cared for in local hospices but all 4 very dear to us… so we HONOUR THIS WALK TO YOU x you made us immensely proud with your bravery, selflessness and the fact you managed to keep smiling J an inspiration to us all!
We honour this walk to x AMY FORESHEW “Nan” x GRACIE BURNS “Mum” x DAVID FORESHEW “Cousin” x SALLY MCDONALD “Friend” x We miss you dearly and every step we take will be in honour of you 4.
Whilst we will have moments of reflection on the night, we aim to do David, Amy, Gracie & Sally proud and do it in style and as we have before with lots of laughter and celebrate the fact we were touched by four amazing people. XXXX
THE IMPORTANT BIT….
The reason we go out at midnight, walk just 10 MILES ha ha & dress up is because St Wilfrid’s Hospice is a charity close to all our hearts, Words cannot express how important the hospice is or how amazing all the staff continue to be – David was cared for in the hospice just last year and sadly spent his last days at St Wilfrid’s. The staff took such great care of David and were also there to support his family & friends through such a difficult time. St Wilfrid’s is a peaceful sanctuary and I believe ANGELS reside there in the form of staff J If you have read this much then thank you for taking the time and I hope you see how important this charity is because without people like you funding the hospice it would cease to exist with 85% of the hospices income generated from fundraising & retail.
xxxxx THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT xxxxx
PS Please log on after the walk to see how we got on and to see some (funny) pictures.
