The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, situated in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, exists to help our patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. Where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days for patients and their families.

Story

On the 31st August 2010, I completed the ultimate long distance open water challenge by swimming the 21 miles (34km) to cross the English Channel!!!!! It took me 13 hours 15 minutes!!! Starting off at 3am, I was swimming in the dark for the first three hours, had to avoid several huge tankers, had to battle against a monster change of tide for the last five miles and had a real struggle with massive waves for the last half mile.

I am most definitely still hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, located beside the River Clyde in Glasgow City Centre. They provide specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, usually cancer and provide this amazing service without charging a penny. My Uncle Arturo spent his last weeks in this Hospice and it is impossible not to be touched by the generosity and level of care provided.

I personally paid for all costs associated with the swim (over £3000) and can therefore assure everyone that all donations will go directly to the Hospice.

So please please please donate as much as you can and help me make a difference to this amazing cause!!!
