Story
Hi,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I decided, after years of avoiding exercise like the plague, to undertake this challenge in memory of my friend's gorgeous son, Michael, who tragically died on March 3 this year. Having seen the devastating effects that this has had on them and so many people around them, I feel that, by getting off my backside and cycling around India, if I can prevent even just one family from going through the same then it will all be very worth while.
Basically a group of ladies are going to be cycling a total distance of 232 miles over the course of 5 days. The terrain is pretty tough (India's roads aren't exactly smooth tarmac) and there is a fair bit of off-roading involved. We even have to do a river crossing apparently! In the itinerary it mentions crocodiles and camping on the edge of a tiger reserve, which, although most people laugh a lot at that bit, I think is a bit scary.
I am doing lots of training in a bid to get fit for this challenge - I've even joined the gym! Sawtry leisure centre have, very kindly, given me full gym membership to help with the training. I am now a reformed couch potato!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Women for Women will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
