After singing with the Pembroke House children's choir a few months ago, I was reminded why investing in the future of the world's youth is so important.  During rehearsal, I asked a young girl if she had liked her visit to Cambridge so far.  She offered: "I love it, and when I grow up, I want to come to Cambridge University."  Though she came from one of the poorest London neighbourhoods, she aspired for great things, in part thanks to the work of Pembroke House, my college's mission in London.  Investing in the education and involvement of youth in the community creates opportunities, and more importantly, hope.

Many people have chuckled at the sight of my small red foldable bike, saying it reminds them of a children's bike.  Perhaps it is apposite, then, for a ride between Oxford and Cambridge in support of Pembroke House and the wonderful things they do for children and the rest of the Walworth community.
