Mount Cotopaxi Climb · 2 June 2006

Steps is the leading charity working for all those whose lives are affected by childhood lower limb conditions. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting individuals, families and carers affected by conditions which have an impact on the legs, hips or feet.

Story

I'm one of four Liverpool based doctors who are joining a larger group of people to climb Mt. Cotopaxi in Ecuador in January 2007. Cotopaxi is the world's highest active volcano standing at 5897m and the group is raising money in aid of two charities; Reach and Steps.

Reach is the association for children with hand or upper limb deficiencies and Steps is a charity for children with lower limb deficiencies. I have a personal link to Reach as I was born with a missing left forearm and have enjoyed the benefits of being a member of the charity from an early age.

Each one of us aims to raise £2750 having already made a personal contribution of £430. This sum is obviously quite a challenge to raise in itself so your contributions would be hugely appreciated. If you feel able to help then please do so. Also, if you know of anyone else who would like to contribute then please direct them to this site

The money needs to be raised by November 2006 in order to ensure maximal contributions to the two charities. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Steps Charity Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
