My story
| Hello, Bonjour, Allegra and Guten
Tag!
In 1953, my dad Roy Jenkin cycled
2286 miles from Exeter through France, Germany
and Switzerland with his school friend Gordon
Newbery. They slept in potting sheds, railway
marshalling yards, and fields of every
description and they spent 10/- a week. Roy kept
a very detailed diary with maps, black and white
photographs, and even recorded details such as
their bike wheels made 6,400,000
revolutions!
This summer, fifty years on,
I retraced his route and had more than a mere
cycling holiday. My dad died of cancer (multiple
myloma) when I was quite young, so I wanted to
raise as much money as possible for Cancer
Research UK.
Please sponsor me online-
its a secure site and besides you're here
already! This is the most efficient way for me
to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Any
amount will make a difference but please try to
give generously.
Thank
you!
Nina
