Story

Thanks for visiting the fundraising page for the Champagne & Chips Climbing Club - aka Emily Farrimond, Damon Roberts, Amy Howlett, David Shannon, Wayne Jeeves, Andrew Jarvis & Joe Nickel (and of course our wonderful support crew James and Twig the Stig!)

We have now officially completed the challenge in 23 hours and 57 minutes!!!! We'd like to say a huge thank to you those who have supported us and sponsored so far .. and don't forget that it's not to late for those of you who are yet to donate as every penny counts!

Our training story is told below, for those who haven't read it yet .....

We completed our first practice hike at Snowdon on the weekend of the 7th June - we had a great climb which proved that we could at least do 1 out of 3 mountains!

Our next practice hike was at Scafell Pike on the 28th June. Now we can say that we have conquered 2 out of 3! We had an eventful 24 hours which included making it up to the Lakes (5am start!), climbing Scafell, banqueting on the train, getting a taxi from Birmingham to London and making it back in time for the last tube home!

Following from Scafell, a couple of the Champagne and Chips'ers returned to the Lake District for a further hiking and camping expedition, of which a cake shop in Kendall turned out to be the highlight of the weekend!

In addition, some team members took on a practice walk at Box Hill in the South Downs - not quite as challenging or glamorous as a mountain climb but turned out to be a good and sweaty walk nonetheless!

Pictures of our training adventures can be found at the following link: http://champagneandchipsclimbingclub.myphotoalbum.com/. More details and updates to follow so please watch this space!

We'd also like to give a special mention and a 'Thank You!' to Laurent Perrier Champagne for providing us with some much needed team refreshments - a bottle of Champagne for each mountain (now all we need are the chips to go with it!)

We are raising funds for VSO, a an international development charity that works through volunteers.  VSO's vision is a world without poverty in which people work together to fulfil their potential.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Voluntary Service Overseas gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please sponsor us and help us support this great cause!
