most of us know someone, possibly a loved one, family member or indeed a friend who have been affected in some way, shape or form by cancer. cancer is indiscriminate, affecting the young and the old, the fit and the infirm and actually one in three of people are likely to get cancer during their lifetime! well, during 2011, there will be a group of runners taking part in several events to raise money for a very specific cause
adelaide ward is the main cancer treatment ward at the royal berkshire hospital in reading. working there is a team of people; doctors, nurses and support staff who are incredible. these guys work around the clock to ensure that their patients get the best possible treatment when undergoing chemotherapy. nothing is too much trouble and there’s always a moment to laugh and smile, making the whole situation just that more bearable for the patient!
the money we are raising will be directed to this ward to support the unit and the team in their work treating cancer patients. our first event is the reading half marathon on 20 march with the wagamama running team entering 12 runners. please take a moment to sponsor us in supporting adelaide ward on http://www.justgiving.com/wagamama-
