Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page which will be open for donations until the end of March 2010.

We've now completed the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon!! :o)

We ran (fast!) for Macmillan Cancer Support, who raise money to help people living with cancer.

Every donation, no matter how small can help in the following ways:

£10 could pay for 20 copies ofThe cancer guide . This Macmillan booklet can help somebody recently diagnosed with cancer, and their families, to understand cancer, its treatment and the help available
£24 could pay for a Macmillan physiotherapist for an hour
£68 could run a typical small Macmillan Information and Support Centre for an hour
£100 could enable the Macmillan Benefits Helpline to help people affected by cancer to claim £2,691 in benefits to which they are entitled
£156 could run our Cancerline for an hour providing, on average,, 13 people affected by cancer with essential information and support.  In peak hours the Cancerline receives, on average, 76 calls per hour
£918 could fund a Macmillan Nurse for a working week.

The race is a testing, single-lap course through some of Kent's finest countryside. This may sound easy and picturesque to some of you, painful to most of you but as it's the first time any of us will be running the distance it will certainly be a challenge!

We've been training hard despite the weather, holding back on the mince pies and post hockey match celebrations.  In return we'd appreciate any support on the day (deep heat, cheer leaders, jelly babies etc) and of course your kind contributions towards this worthwhile cause.

So please dig deep and donate now.  Thank you from all of us!
