Samworth Charity Challenge · 6 June 2015
The Samworth Charity Challenge is a team event which consists of a team of 4 orienteering around a route collecting check points. Each route will require teams to navigate their way round on foot, by canoe and on bike.
The section on foot is 8km, and has a height gain of 274m.
On the water, the canoe section has a maximum length of 10km.
The bike route is 30km long with a maximum height gain of around 798m.
Each section of the route is a timed event, so speed is of the essence. the setting for the event will be in Wales based around the wonderful Lake Vyrnwy. This year, a new and exciting compulsory activity will be introduced for the first time. This will be in the form of an obstacle course which will include elements of climbing, crawling, pushing and lifting.
We will be raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity. We have chosen this charity because one of our former colleagues has recently been diagnosed and so we wanted to show our support towards a worthwhile cause. We aim to raise £2000 so please help us to reach our target.
