Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please take a moment to read the story below;
On the 2nd of August it will be two years. They say that losing someone special gets easier with time. I couldn't agree with that but what I do know is that we simply have to learn to live with it.
I am very lucky to have many incredible friends and family to help me do that and once again they are coming together to show how much Amy was loved and to support a cause that doesn't just save lives, but for those it cannot - like Amy - provides second-to-none family friendly support that feels more like a second home than a lonely hospital. The staff & nurses at the Teenage Cancer Unit in Sheffield care in a way that they become more than that - they feel like a loving aunt or sister.
On the 1st August 2015 a large group of us will be walking from Bakewell (a place that Amy and I visited and she was very fond of) to the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield - where her sponsored tree now stands (a Carolina Silver Bell).
We will be walking approximately 25 miles throughout the day, which will take about 11-12 hours. We are all novice walkers so it will be a very tough challenge across the Derbyshire Peak District.
If you would like to support us in our challenge, to show your appreciation for the Teenage Cancer Unit or out of your love for Amy and her wishes to support this cause, thank you. Your donation will be gratefully received.
