Walk for Karen
Mrs Karen Maltby, Head of Lincoln Minster Preparatory School, sadly died on 9 November 2010. Her loss to the Lincoln Minister School community and to the UCST group of Prep School Heads is immense.
To honour her memory and to raise money for Cancer UK, UCST Prep School Heads are walking the collective distance between the individual prep schools and Lincoln Minister School, in the next two school vacations.
Your support and donations will be invaluable.
If you can support this event please put your donation, or your pledge per mile with your contact details, in to the box marked Walk for Karen in the school entrance hall, by 1 April 2011 when our walking challenge begins.
Karen told many funny stories of her own walking holidays and attempts to keep fit. We hope her memory and her legacy of love, humour and of giving will be celebrated by the raising of money for this important charity.
30th June: School Charity Walks planned in support of the team in blue. Virtual walking going well as reported at this term's Junior Heads Conference. Huge generosity from Ashford and Caterham Schools continues. Further planning: August 177 mile walk from Guildford to Lincoln by Phillips family. September Charity Walk by Rowan School. October UCST Heads last 10 miles to Lincoln.
