Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. <em><strong>For more information,&nbsp;up to date news and our gallery please follow the link to <a href="http://www.walkforwalkers.org.uk/">www.walkforwalkers.org.uk</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></em></span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-size: small;">At the end of April 2011, we&nbsp;will be hiking the Jurassic Coast. Phil will walk for 5 days covering 80 strenuous and hilly miles from Seaton, Devon to Poole in Dorset; Mark will be joining Phil for 4 days walking from Seaton to Worth Matravers, a total of 65 miles and Nigel Smith will walk the 32 miles from Weymouth to Worth Matravers.&nbsp;</span></span><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-size: small;">We are undertaking this journey to raise monies to purchase 'Walkers&rsquo;, walking frames for children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy,&nbsp;for the Child Development Centre at Poole Hospital.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-size: small;">These Walkers&nbsp;can completely change a child's life by allowing them to&nbsp;gain their mobility&nbsp;which otherwise may be almost exclusively via a wheelchair. The Walkers meet a wide&nbsp;range of&nbsp;therapeutic needs&nbsp;such as encouraging weight bearing and&nbsp;developing muscle strength.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-size: small;">Currently, when&nbsp;a need for a Walker is identified&nbsp;a child may be forced&nbsp;to wait up to&nbsp;6 months for their application&nbsp;to be processed.&nbsp; It seems unthinkable that children are being denied the opportunity to gain mobility and some independence for this time simply because of an administrative process. We would therefore like&nbsp;to try and raise sufficient funds in order to purchase a range of different sized Walkers that can be used temporarily by children whilst&nbsp;their applications are being considered. This will be a real challenge as the Walker pictured costs around &pound;700.&nbsp;&nbsp; </span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
