Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page for the "Walk the Thames" event.

Wendy will be walking all weekend, and will be joined on Saturday by Aniko and then on Sunday by Andrew, to raise funds for the RCJ Advice Bureau.  The Bureau provides advice and support in response to thousands of requests for help each year, from clients across England and Wales, in all areas of civil law.

Wendy is part of the Miscarriages of Justice Support Service team at the Bureau, providing support to victims of miscarriages of justice as they deal with the challenges of resettlement after release.  Clients of the service have been wrongly imprisoned for up to 30 years in some cases, and since the service began in 2003 over 120 people have received the personalised support, advice and assistance of Wendy and her colleagues.

Aniko is one of our generalist advisors and contributes her time on a volunteer basis. Her support is invaluable in ensuring we can provide services to so many clients.

Andrew is part of the Money Advice Team at the Bureau, which has seen an unprecedented rise in demand over recent years.  Last year clients arrived at the Bureau with a combined debt of £33m, a huge rise from the £7m seen just two years ago, and sadly demand continues to grow.

Wendy, Andrew and Aniko will walk over 80 miles between them over the weekend, demonstrating their commitment to the Bureau and to the people who desperately need our help - thank you in advance for supporting them, and through them the many people who rely on our advice services.
