Coast to Coast Walk · 6 September 2010

Oldham Cancer Support Centre offers help and support to patients, carers and family members affected by cancer by way of information, self help and support groups, benefits advice, complementary therapies, counselling and an opportunity to talk about concerns relating to any aspect of cancer.

Story

Hello and welcome to our JustGiving page.  We are walking the coast to coast walk this September raising funds and in support of Oldham Cancer Support Centre.  The Centre offers help, support, advice and therapy to those people touched by cancer.

THE TEAM

Chris Hoyle:

When Chris was diagnosed with Leukemia several years ago he had nowhere to turn for help and advice.  So much so Chris had a dream to set up a centre accessible to other patients.  That dream turned into a reality and Oldham Cancer Support Centre was born.  Chris still has leukemia but his determination and strength will see him complete the walk.

Charlie Walduck

Seven years ago Charlie could not get out of his chair at home.  Weighing almost 50 stones and with little desire to carry on, Charlie managed to lose over 30 stones in less than 2 years with the help of ITV1’s This Morning’s Dr Chris Steele MBE.  Charlie still struggles with issues surrounding food but is determined to complete the coast to coast.  Charlie will then be having a day off before completing the Great North Run!

Mark Rowlands

Mark has been a friend of Charlie’s for the past 24 years and they have gone through a lot together.  Mark is a budding actor and great motivator and is an invaluable member of the team – he has already said he is happy to carry Charlie’s rucksack!

Graham Hobbs

Graham is a local business man.  A keen walker this is his biggest challenge yet.  Graham knows only too well how important it is to support the centre so that it may continue to support others.

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
