We must be mad ;-) Here are the stories as to why we're doing this: Tweek aka Catherine Sheppard: Well.... I had a bike accident last year resulting in blood clots on my lungs, and spent a lot of it getting physio for a real bad case of whiplash, getting a monotone off the doctors of "You can't do that, you can't do this" so, once I knew I would be off the warfarin at the beginning of this year I started planning all sorts of adventures... including walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks, I then recruited a couple of other mad'ens to join me I wouldn't of been able to complete this without the help and support I received from my gym which I joined as soon as the physio gave me the go ahead. The reason I am raising money for the FCT is because I believe they do fantastic work across all the forces, I have a lot of friends now with children who I pray will never have to use this charity. Zander aka Alexander Sheppard: I am one of the "other mad'ens" and joining my sister on her mission to prove she may be broken but she can do it (and to make sure she doesn't hurt herself... cause she's good at that)! I also wanted to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks and was glad of an excuse to get up there. I loved Catherine's idea of doing it in aid of the FCT which is why I have joined her on this fundraising page. Akey aka Mark Akehurst: I am another one of the mad'uns and when I heard that Tweek was going to do the Yorks 3 Peaks I just thought I would love to come and support her. Tweek is great - she just does it, even when people say she can't she just proves them wrong.
So what can I say about the charity, well as a member of the Armed Forces I truely believe in what the trust do and in the difference they make. So come on please help some kids who have lost a parent or lost part of a parent (either physicaly or mentaly) who chose to serve their country, thanks. We are also walking with Rep aka Alex Simpson however he is raising money for the Chris Jones Riders Fund http://www.cjnine.com and you can find his page at http://www.justgiving.com/alexsimpson1 ******** Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Forces Children's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. ******** WE DID IT!!! Well... we only went and managed it... AND in under 12 hours too! So chuffed, a big thank you to everyone who helped us accomplish this, from moral support to donations to our charity, it all really helped us finish with smiles (even if they were mostly inside... just to stop people thinking we really are loonies) The page is online for another couple of months, so please keep passing it on to your friends and with a bit of luck we'll be able to hit way over target between the three of us
