Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

On Sunday 6th September I will be doing the Adidas Women's Challenge in London round Hyde Park (5km walk/run) in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (http://www.cftrust.org.uk)

I am the mother of 2 boys, Daniel aged 14 and Joseph aged 6, who both have the genetically inherited life-threatening condition Cystic Fibrosis - they are my life and my inspiration for none stop fundraising.

This will be the 4th year I have done the challenge and I am looking forward to meeting up with many good friends in the CF Community, having some fun and raising some money along the way and praying with all my heart that my old hips allow me to finish this year - they were a pain last year!!!

HELP ME TO SEE OFF CF BY DONATING AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AFFORD - AS LITTLE AS £2 - ALL ADDS UP.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease.

Cystic Fibrosis affects over 8,000 people in the UK.

Over two million people in the UK carry the faulty gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of the population.

If two carriers have a child, the baby has a 1 in 4 chance of having Cystic Fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.

Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis.

Each week, three young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.

Around half of the CF population can expect to live over 35 years, although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live even longer.
