**** UPDATE ****
The boys completed the 96 mile West Highland Way on schedule at approx 3.30pm on Monday 2nd May 2011, tired & sore but very proud, helping raise funds for a great charity. Anyone that has walked The Way knows it's not easy - and sadly one of our team, David, had to pull out with very sore knees at the Kings House - 73 miles into the walk. David was key to the whole event - having organised all the accommodation / route planning - so thanks David, we all know it wasn't an easy decision to make
Thanks to everyone that has donated and all your messages of support. The site will remain open for a while to allow more donations to come in.

Every day hospices across the country do fantastic work, especially with people suffering from a life limiting illness. St Margaret of Scotland Hospice in Clydebank provided world-class end of life care for Lynne (47) and Helen (67) sister and mum of John McBride. They died on the 5 and 8 May 2010 following an 18 month and 14 year battle with breast cancer. St Margaret’s hospice provided support and strength to family and friends at a terrible time.
To help raise funds for St Margarets John and 5 friends are walking the 96 mile West Highland Way in 4 ½ days in April 2011. Your sponsorship today will help us repay that compassion just a little and help them carry on supporting others afflicted by theses dreadful diseases.
The 6 walkers are;
John McBride, David Rolwegan, Blair McKellar, Steve Griffin, Stephen Hall & Bob Davidson
Please give what you can
Thank you,
John, David, Blair, Steve, Stephen & Bob
More about the West Highland Way
Scotland’s first official long distance route links Milngavie to Fort William – a distance of 154km (96 miles) - from the northern outskirts of Glasgow, to the foot of Ben Nevis at Fort William.
The Route passes through Mugdock Country Park, follows the shores of Loch Lomond, passing Ben Lomond, through Glen Falloch and Strathfillan, crossing Rannoch Moor, past Buachaille Etive Mor to the head of Glencoe, climbing the Devil’s Staircase, descending to sea level to cross the River Leven at the head of Loch Leven before entering Lairigmor and Glen Nevis.
The terrain ranges from lowland moors, dense woodland and rolling hills, to high mountainous regions in the Scottish Highlands. These environments provide habitats for a diverse range of wildlife species, both flora and fauna.
