One Water comments on Kevin’s contribution:
“Many people have been involved in the development and success of One water and we would particularly like to recognise the contribution that Kevin Thompson from Brandsmiths made to this project. His death has left a great hole in many hearts and minds and he will be very much missed as a friend and a mentor. His legacy lives on in the hundreds of thousands of lives he's helped to change in Africa.”The WalksBeginning with a walk along the Thames Path from Hampton Court to Putney on May 30th 2009, a series of walks by family and friends to celebrate and remember the life of the late Kevin Thompson will be organised by Helen Storey, Kevin’s widow and Caroline Coates of the Helen Storey Foundation. "We used to walk.
The first, across Hampstead Heath, slowly, finding out who you were, as you did me,
The day vanished, so we walked the night too.
We always walked after that.
Along the Thames path, to dream of our garden, to guess at other people’s history, to fathom and invent, to laugh and to feel each second was close to the next.
In gratitude, at identical pace, and equal in everything that matters.
As time went by, the walks got shorter, until you couldn’t walk any more.
The last, towards the front door, and into the back of the ambulance.
The same pace now, towards memory, and still in silent disbelief; without you.
But walk."
Helen Storey, February 2009
