At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

The picture is at the start of Day 2, walking along a path taking in Cononley Castle, near Wetherby. This was the day I had to stop in the afternoon for 1 1/2  hours because it was too hot to walk.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am raising money for CLIC Sargent following their succesful day on March 6th with Centuryfm when they raised over £52,000 in one day. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. My challenge is the Walk of the Roses. This is an uncharted walk along roads and public footpaths of 80 miles from York to Lancaster, unsupported, on my own, over 5 days. The walk will start at York, Micklegate on Wednesday morning, 4th June and finish at Lancaster Cathedral on Sunday evening, 8th June 2008. The route is as follows:

Day 1 - York to Spofforth

Day 2 - Spofforth to Ilkley

Day 3 -  Ilkley to East Marton

Day 4 - East Marton to Dunsop Bridge

Day 5 -  Dunsop Bridge to Lancaster

I should then have enough time and energy left on Sunday evening to be at The Pinewoods Pub in Wicks Green, Formby for a few post walk sherberts!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
