UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! Well dear sponsors, I made it there and ran the race. Placed 71st with a personal best time of 1 hour 54 mins, it was a tremendous experience. Many thanks to you all for your giving. As promised I will add 10% of the final total out of my own pocket, and I'll do that after the Team SPUD sausage debrief at work. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Yoohoo! In a bid to pretend I am not nearly 40 next year I am running the Islay half marathon in August. I'm using this as an opportunity to raise funds for the East Lancs Hospice. My friend and colleague Garry Mathieson died there, so this is my way of saying thankyou for the care they gave him. It's a good way to remember a great bloke, but it's also a good way to get some money raised to support a worthy cause. Making someone's last days as comfortable as possible is a hard job, and those that do it deserve as much support as we can afford. So while I'll be wheezing and creaking round Islay, all it takes is for you to click your mouse and add some funds. I pledge to pay 10% of the final submission total as well so get clicking!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The East Lancashire Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
